 SAMPLING

   Whether acoustically in the air or electronically in a wire, everything that makes sound produces a wave.  Pipes, in particular, produce many complex waves as part of their sound.  More importantly, every cycle of a pipe’s wave is similar, but under close scrutiny, quite different – the same way that snowflakes are similar in form, but entirely individual in execution. 

   JOHANNUS organs use specially-selected samples which are precisely chosen to optimize the available memory space, while still providing an accurate, yet warm, organ tone.  Using a 32-bit digital bus, a highly accurate playback system is finally available in a truly affordable package.

 VOICING

   Voicing is the single most important part of any organ installation.  It takes experienced, knowledgeable professionals to fine-tune the tonal character of an instrument to fit a particular space.  JOHANNUS organs are designed to give the voicer the utmost capability.  Many parameters of pipe organ voicing are duplicated electronically, including speech and volume for each individual note of each individual stop, with that many more possibilities available on the analog side.  And unlike pipe organs, all voicing changes are completely reversible.

 CREATURE COMFORTS

 JOHANNUS organs are loaded with features designed to make even the most intimidated organist feel right at home.

·                     Transposer  is an often-requested feature which soloists- as much as organists – appreciate.  Transpose the tuning of the whole organ at the push of a piston.

·                     Manual Bass  is for pianists who find themselves playing organ, this option automatically links the lowest note played on the Great manual to the Pedal, perfect for people not trained in pedal performance.  Cantus Firmus  automatically links the highest note played on the Great manual to the Swell for soloing.

·                     Pitch Fine-Tuning   No longer will the organ be out of tune with the piano on a hot day:

·                     Chorus  slightly de-tunes the divisions to each other, producing a warmer, richer sound – perfect for hymn accompaniment.

·                     Headphone Jack is for truly private practice sessions.

MIDI

 Every JOHANNUS organ is MIDI-ready. Every division can be separately coupled to its own MIDI channel and these MIDI “couplers” can then be saved as an integral part of any combination.  Organ to MIDI integration has never been this simple or intuitive. The keys on the newer JOHANNUS organs are touch sensitive. Ideal for piano MIDI module.

AMPLIFICATION

 SOUTH FLORIDA ORGAN is one of the few organ companies utilizing multi-directional speaker arrays.  This one small detail is only one of many that SOUTH FLORIDA ORGAN and JOHANNUS utilize to better replicate true pipe organ sound.

 No other organ offers so many channels of audio for so little money: each stop (rank) is divided among several amplifier-speaker channels to better duplicate pipe organ-style acoustical blending – rather than electronic blending – of the instrument’s sound.  Acoustical blending creates super – and sub-harmonic audio waveforms, increasing the special illusion and the authenticity of the sound. 

 CABINETRY

   Only the finest hand-selected oak, mahogany, and walnut hardwoods and veneers go into JOHANNUS organ consoles and cabinets.  JOHANNUS can even utilize real pipe-work to give your instrument the look of a pipe organ.
